Forestry Management

ABOUT

Forestry Corporation of NSW has been managing environmental sustainability, tourism and renewable timber production in NSW’s State-owned commercial native and plantation State forests for more than a century.

We balance environmental conservation and community recreation with timber production and access for other primary industries such as grazing and beekeeping to ensure our forests sustainably deliver multiple benefits to the community for the long term.

Eco accommodation

ABOUT

The Silo Hut provides fully self-contained accommodation for 2 adults. The two grain silos belonging to the original dairy have been beautifully converted to a farm stay by our local builder Mark De Hoogh. The crafted interior is comfortable and attractive, comprises two tall, round rooms with peaked ceilings, a bathroom and a veranda. The walls and ceilings are made from plywood and there are plantation pine wooden floors. The Silo Hut is elevated and provides picturesque views of the valley, the river flats and hills. One silo is a bedroom / living area and the other silo is the kitchen. There is a veranda at the front and a bathroom at the rear.

ABOUT

Fosterton Farm Bakery is a small family business located on our farm in the Fosterton Valley, Dungog. We make Demeter Certified Biodynamic bread from flour we mill freshly each week, from grains purchased directly from Demeter Certified Australian farmers. The flour is stoneground and the majority of our bread is slow-leavened sourdough. We do make some other products, including sweet and savoury pastries, using some products from our farm, such as beef and vegetables. Our bread and pastries are sold off the farm at the the Saturday morning Dungog bread van and on Wednesdays through a number of shops. For more information, see our website.
