Dungog Regional Tourism was established in 2016 at the initiative of the Dungog Shire Council and the Dungog District Chamber of Commerce. It is a non profit organisation comprised of local businesses, professional and community minded people keen to improve tourism in the Dungog Shire.

Our Objectives and Principles are:

Objectives:

Provide leadership and coordination of initiatives, through a partnership between the

Council, the tourism Industry, and the Chamber, and guided by each three-year written

strategic plan, to:

(a) Develop the Dungog Region as a Destination.

(b) Increase visitation to the Dungog Region

(c) Improve the Visitor experience

(d) Identify platforms and opportunities for individual businesses.

Principles:

  1. Establish the organisation as the recognised regional tourism industry body within the Region

  2. Renew the written strategic plan every three years.

  3. Encourage and develop of an integration of the tourism industry within the Region

  4. Promote the importance of Tourism to all businesses within the Region

  5. Promote training in tourism through educational institutions to encourage increasing employment in tourism

  6. Access funding and lobby in all areas of opportunity on behalf of businesses in the Region.

  7. Create opportunities for Members to share knowledge, expertise and resources with each other.
